Many people receive Activate Care support in their own home. If you're looking for a place to live as well, we also have shared homes across Melbourne's North, West and South-East.

If a shared home suits you, we'll take care to match you with housemates you'll feel comfortable with, and show you what's available now.

The things people most often ask us about Supported Independent Living.

What does SIL cover?

Supported Independent Living funds the day-to-day help you need to live independently — things like personal care, cooking and meals, building life skills, support around the home, getting out into the community, and overnight or 24/7 assistance where your plan allows. It does not cover your rent or everyday living costs like food and bills.

Am I eligible for SIL?

SIL is generally for people with higher daily support needs who have a goal related to independent living in their NDIS plan. Eligibility depends on your individual needs and assessments. If you're not sure, talk to us or your support coordinator and we'll help you understand your options.

Can I get support in my own home?

Yes. Many people receive Activate Care support in their own home. If you're also looking for somewhere to live, we have shared homes across Melbourne's North, West and South-East — ask us about current vacancies in your preferred area.

What credentials do your support workers hold?

All of our support workers hold an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and First Aid, and we provide ongoing training. We're a registered NDIS provider and work in line with the NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct.

Do you offer 24/7 care?

Yes - we can provide active overnight support or around-the-clock care where your NDIS plan allows. We'll build a roster that matches the level of support you need.

What if my needs change?

Your support can change as your life does. We hold regular reviews so your support keeps pace, and we can adjust your roster or support levels as your goals and circumstances change.

Can a support coordinator refer a participant?

Absolutely. Tell us about your participant's needs and budget and we'll respond promptly with availability, fit, and a SIL quote and roster of care. We make referrals straightforward and keep you in the loop throughout.

Do you offer Support Coordination as well as SIL?

Yes. We provide both, and they're funded separately in your plan. We're happy to help with just one or both together, whatever suits your situation.
